Richard is a two-year-old large mixed breed who arrived in foster care in February 2026 — a goofy, high-energy guy who somehow balances "total whirlwind" with "genuinely polite." His fetch game is legitimately structured: he sprints hard, retrieves cleanly, drops at your feet, and sits for the next throw without being asked twice, which puts him ahead of a lot of dogs who've actually been trained for it. He's strong and enthusiastic on the move, but treat-motivated enough that redirecting that power is very doable — this is a dog who learns fast and knows it. Off the field he's got a warm, velcro side: post-run, he'll drop into sunbathing mode, lean in for belly rubs, and stick close to his person. He comes neutered and cue-trained, and he's living in a foster home right now, so his family is getting a real read on who he is day-to-day. Richard needs structure, regular outlets for that big motor, and someone who'll laugh at his class-clown antics — give him those things and he'll be hard to beat.
