Carting & Drafting
The Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA) approved its Draft Test Regulations in January 1991 and has run draft tests through regional Bernese clubs ever since. Tests appear at national specialties and at regional events through the year, with a developed network of clinics, match tests, and mentoring. Tests aren't Bernese-only: host clubs choose BMD-only or all-eligible, and all-eligible tests take any AKC- or CKC-registered or -listed dog, mixes included (PAL, ILP, Canine Partners), with Bernese given entry priority. National Specialty tests are Bernese-only.
