Tracking

Working Dogs of America. Tracking titles (T1, T2, MT) tied to its working-dog program. T1 is handler-laid (350–400 paces, 2 articles, aged 20–30 minutes); T2 is stranger-laid (800 paces, 3 articles, 60–90 minutes); Master Track needs a track at least 3 hours old, 1,800 paces, 5 articles. Scored out of 100, 70 to title. Min age 9mo for T1, 15mo for T2/MT.

Working Dogs of America

WDA has no parallel governing organization in the United States. Working Dogs of America, Corp writes the rulebook, licenses every titling event, certifies judges and decoys, and maintains the registry and title records. There is one ladder, one rulebook, and one database. Many WDA handlers cross-train and trial in PSA, IGP, APPDA, or K9 Street League — but those titles do not transfer into the WDA system, and WDA titles don't appear on AKC or UKC pedigrees. Founded 2001 as Service Dogs of America, a US-based all-breed working-dog registry; it was a UKC affiliate from 2004 through 2009 and took the Working Dogs of America name in March 2018. Mission language references 'meaningful, utilitarian tasks,' 'common-sense methods,' and a blend of family-dog and sport orientation — language the founders chose to distinguish WDA from FCI-style Schutzhund. Eligibility runs through registration and temperament, not pedigree: explicitly all-breed, any breed or mix is eligible.
