Straight Racing
WRA (Whippet Racing Association) runs straight track sprint racing for purebred Whippets only, often paired with oval racing (NOTRA) on specialty weekends. Dogs must be AKC-, UKC-, or CKC-registered purebred Whippets (no ILP, PAL, or LP dogs), and every Whippet is height-measured at check-in — dogs 19–22 inches, bitches 18–21. Meets are four programs; puppies 8–14 months run their own 150-yard races. The 2026 WRA & NOTRA Nationals ran October 2–4 in Bridgewater, New Jersey, at $22 per entry.
