Dock Diving
International Dog Sports (IDS) is a network of independently owned dock facilities that run competitions under one shared rulebook, scoring system and title program; each venue keeps its own business, and IDS states plainly that it is not a franchise. Any healthy, well-behaved dog over 6 months old can compete, regardless of breed or other dog-sport affiliations, once it has a one-time, lifetime IDS registration number. IDS runs three dock games — Horizon (distance), Eclipse (a suspended-bumper grab) and Velocity (a timed swim) — and also sanctions lure chasing and frisbee. Junior handlers ages 5 to 18 register free and earn their own titles. The season builds to the IDS Championship, held the same September weekend at host docks across the country and streamed live.
